SNRE Distinguished Speaker of 2007 is Katrina Brandon of Conservation International's Center for Applied Biodiversity Science. Her current research includes biodiversity loss and conservation, protected area management, human-wildlife conflicts, and indigenous people's role in conservation.

The University of Florida Levin College of Law’s 13th Annual Public Interest Environmental Conference (PIEC) will be held March 1-3, 2007. In conjunction with this conference a clinic for land conservation trust organizations will be held discussing financial strategies.

The Meeting of the Florida Land Trusts: Clinic on Membership Development and Fundraising Strategies for Land Conservation Organizations.

Clinic will be held Friday, March 2, 2007 in Holland Hall, Classroom 283 from 1pm to 5 pm.

The SNRE Seminar Series is ongoing throughout the Spring and Fall Semesters. Faculty present talks on a themed basis or give results of their current research. Students present their master's or dissertation research.

The Green Trends Conference was held in Gainesville, FL , May 02 - 04, 2006 in the Reitz Union. SNRE was involved with supporting the conference and many of the students and faculty were presenters.

SNRE sponsored the Ag Lands, Development and the Future of Florida Conference. The conference was held on Tuesday, November 14th 2006. Palm Beach County Convention Center – Grand Ballroom.


 

The Campus and Community Sustainability Conference was held on October 25th and 26th, 2006. SNRE Cosponsored the conference and many students and faculty presented or participated in the discussion panels.
