SNRE Undergraduate Student Council

The SNRE Student Council is an organization that focuses on the academic and professional development of students interested in natural resources and the environment. We aim to engage the Gator Nation and surrounding community on important environmental issues and promote sustainability with knowledgeable guest speakers, outings, and community service projects. We have attended the GREEN Generation Environmental Youth Summit and held a river clean up on the Santa Fe. The SNRE Student Council is an open group, welcoming students of any major with a passion for the environment. There’s also no wrong time to get involved! Check out our Facebook page or sign up for updates by joining our group on Gator Connect.

Meet the council's officers:

Kevin - President

Kevin is a third-year environmental science major with an interest in plant science. He enjoys going to the gym, hiking and visiting parks with friends. His goal in the SNRE student council is to create fun, educational events that socially immerse all members.

Gabrielle - Vice President & Volunteer Chair

Gabrille is a second-year environmental engineering major with a minor in soil and water sciences. She is interested in project management for water resource designs. She enjoys hiking and going to the gym. She also loves the beach and any reason to be outside. She hopes to collaborate with other on-campus organizations to find new volunteer opportunities.

Romario - Treasurer

Romario is a second-year mathematics major pursuing a dual degree with environmental science. He is interested in the mathematical fields of logic and model theory but also in applied environmental fields such as ecology and hydrology. He enjoys watching soccer, listening to music, and learning new things. In the future, he hopes to work in a technical field pertaining to the environment and potentially pursue graduate study in mathematics.

Amanda - Secretary

Amanda is a third-year elementary education major with a minor in sustainability studies. She is interested in integrating the two studies, incorporating nature-related games and activities with children in order to help them gain more love and appreciation for the wonderful, yet fragile natural world. Whether it is hiking, camping, walking her dog, or playing sports, she loves spending her time outside.

Rachel - Social Media Coordinator

Rachel is a fourth-year student pursuing a dual degree in Environmental Science and International Studies (Asia). She enjoys spreading the word about environmental issues and hopes to one day work alongside international organizations to combat climate change. After she graduates she wants to gain experience working with NGOs to research human impacts on the environment. She enjoys news podcasts, growing houseplants and good coffee.
